To do anything for the first time can be scary. Going on a first date can make you feel even more nervous because you want to make a good first impression. You’re also trying to figure out if your date will be a good match for you. At the same time, you’re wondering if they like you back.

When two people are just getting to know one another, it can be difficult to decide where to go and what to do. Hopefully, the pair on the date will have something in common and can find an activity that they will both enjoy. A classic first date is to go out to eat so they can chat and learn more about each other while enjoying a good meal.

Jessica is worried because she doesn’t know what she’ll be doing on her first date. Find out more in today’s English lesson about finding love.

Jessica: You’re not going to believe what I’m going to do this week.

Lily: What are you doing?

Jessica: I am going on a first date!

Lily: That’s so exciting.

Jessica: No, it’s not. Oh my gosh. The anticipation is giving me butterflies.

Lily: It’s OK. It’s so fun. You get to meet someone new. It can be awkward, that’s true. But it’s anyone’s guess what’s going to happen. And that’s kind of exciting.

Jessica: But I’m dealing with so much indecision. I just don’t know what I’m going to wear or where we should go. And I’m feeling really self-conscious about it all.

Lily: But you’re going to be awesome. This person wanted to go on a date with you, anyway. Feel confident in that and just put your best foot forward and you’ll be fine.

Jessica: Thanks, Lily. I’m starting to feel better already.

Lily: Good.

It’s normal to be nervous about going on a first date. Jessica has butterflies just from thinking about it. The anticipation of not knowing what will happen makes her nervous. What will they do? Where will they go? There are so many questions!

Lily is very excited for Jessica, and thinks that this is a great chance to meet someone new. She thinks Jessica will be awesome and will have a fun date if she has a positive attitude. A first date can lead to a second date, and it’s anyone’s guess what will happen after that.

I’ve had so, so many first dates. Luckily, most of them have not led to a second date. Gosh, I was just so relieved to end most of the nights by saying: “Take care and have a good life!” Only 10 % of the dates I’ve been to, ended in a second date. Giving it my best shot, I gave up dating eventually. I never experienced any butterflies nor similar sensational feelings. Cute crap is not the key to my downstairs! Yep- I’m so over it.

In the past, a first date was so exciting but now people talk online ,see eachother online and know many online information about eachother before first meeting!

They even decide together where to go or what to do and even what to eat before their first date😀

I guess it is not very interesting like before!

very intresting lesson, on my first date with my friend i feel butterflies a day before and i was self-conscious same like jissca and indecision wether i should go or not .but finally, we met at university cafetria, we start conversions and it was awesome. at same time i offer her to next date and she also willing to meet me again. ;)

Yuppyy….first date really full anticipation which gave me butterfies, I didn’t know what I were gonna say and wondering what he might say, yeah…at the beginning I felt awkward of course, I forgot who broke the ice but that’s was wonderful. He took me out for lunch . I tried to put my best foot forward, I was shy girl, shy to eat a lot, I don’t eat the food that much thought I was really hungry, I coulnd’t swallow the food haha…. Now that we are merried he really new that actually I love to eat hahaha.. so it was kinda drama and he always find way to tease me now. huhu

sometimes, our hopes,expectations can finish at first date,we cant get any positive energy from them…we cant have any nice feelings from them and it can be last date ..of course ı lived them ..ı didnt live in fairytales for years :)

about indefine articles.

In English ,some words dont like to be alone ..and they want to be together with these “a” and “an” as a grammar rule :)
