Every year in Portland on Fourth of July weekend, there is a Blues Festival where all sorts of local and national acts perform their material.
John went to the Blues Festival last week. Listen in to his conversation with Steph to find out what it was like…

John

Steph:  So what’s you do last weekend John?

John:  Well, since it was the Fourth we tried to do something fun and outside. We went down to the Blues Festival. Have you ever been there?

Steph:  You know I was there a few years ago and, it’s been a little while, but they always have some really interesting acts going on. Did you see anyone interesting?

John:  Uh, there were a lot of interesting people in the crowd. Ya know, I’d say it’s a very, uh, unusual cross-section of the Portland population.

Steph:  Oh yeah? What do you mean by that?

John:  There were guys walking around on stilts. And, uh, ya know, people from all age ranges. And, just kind of a, it was kind of like a circus-type atmosphere.

Steph:  Really, huh? Did you see anything else interesting? Any music?

John:  Well, I guess there was a little bit of music goin’ on too. It was pretty good. And the sun was out. And, so, and there was good food there so we had a good time.

Steph:  That sounds like fun were you there on the Fourth, or, um, earlier in the weekend?

John:  We went on the third, on Saturday. The Fourth we thought was gonna be too crowded. So we kinda just chilled at home then.

Steph:  Oh that sounds good. Yeah I saw it from the freeway. It was just, it was too crowded for me.

John:  Did you see any fireworks?

Steph:  I did. I saw them from atop a building.

John:  Oh that musta been fun!

Steph:  Oh yeah, it was fun. They were great.
