The summer is great for having fun outdoors. There are so many great activities like water skiing, hiking and camping.
Last weekend Migs was lucky enough to go rafting, another excellent summertime adventure. He was a little scared going into it, but he came back very happy and wanting to go again.
Check out the conversation between Migs and I about his trip. You’ll see what I mean about him having fun.

John:  I’m glad you survived that raft trip.

Miguel:  Yeah, it was touch and go there for a while. It was wild and crazy.

John:  Was it kind of scary?

Miguel:  Uh, no. But it was still fun. I mean, there was big rapids and all that, but it just wasn’t as intense as I expected.

John:  How many days were you gone?

Miguel:  Well, two full days on the river, and, uh, you know, a couple nights camping, so it was a good trip.

John:  And the weather was nice, right?

Miguel:  The weather was beautiful for about seventy-five percent of the time and then right after I jumped in the water we floated under a cloud patch and the temperature dropped about forty degrees.

John:  How long did that last?

Miguel:  Uh, only a couple hours but it was enough to have me totally shivering and, um, freezing like it was the dead of winter.

John:  Were there a lot of other people on the river?

Miguel:  Um, there were quite a few but we seemed to start the day after all of them so we really didn’t see them. They were floating ahead of us.

John:  But then when you got to the camp sites were they all there?

Miguel:  Yeah. There was a ton of people at the camp sites and the tents were, like, one foot apart. It was, like, incredible how close everyone was ‘cause it was like a city of tents instead of a campground.

John:  So, did you make any new friends?

Miguel:  Um, not really. I was kind of shy ‘cause, um, I just wasn’t in the mood to meet new people out in the middle of nowhere.

John:  How about, uh, the whole Ebaby! crew goes on a rafting trip sometime this summer?

Miguel:  I love that idea. It would be a lot more fun to have a bunch of crazy people out there.

Discussion

What do you think? Does rafting in Oregon sound fun? If you play it safe, it can be a great time. It sounds like Migs never got tossed from the boat, but sometimes this happens. In the hot summer sun, swimming in the river feels really nice.
This fall, Ebaby! will lead a tour for Ebaby! members and their friends of our beautiful state of Oregon. Come have fun with the Eteam and practice your English! For more info, please click here. We look forward to seeing you!
Now, on to the quiz. Good luck!
Your American Friend,
John
