Hi Friends!
Having friends is good. Having good friends is great. Having friends who will take care of your pets when you go away for the weekend is priceless.
If you own a pet, you know that it is a major responsibility. Having a dog or a cat often seems like having a child. It can be difficult to figure out ways to make sure that it is cared for at all times.
Beth is nice enough to help her friends when they are in need. Listen to her conversation with John to learn about her exciting weekend of dog sitting.

John:  So, you won’t be able to make it to Bend this weekend Beth?

Beth:  No, unfortunately not. I have, uh, some commitments. I’m hanging out with a bunch of dogs.

John:  What is that all about?

Beth:  Well, I’m helping some friends out when they go away this weekend, so I’m watching their dogs and kind of house sitting.

John:  So are they dropping their dogs off at your place and then you watch them there?

Beth:  Actually no. I’m going over to their house. So, I’ll spend the weekend there and take care of their friendly, uh, pets, on their own turf.

John:  So what does that mean? Do you have to take them for walks and feed them and brush them and everything?

Beth:  Yeah, we’ll probably go to the park and I’ll feed them in the morning and at night, and stuff like that. Nothing major. It’s just, you know, not exactly, uh, the most fun weekend. But, it’s, it’s good to help out friends.

John:  Isn’t your dog going to get a little jealous with all the attention for the other dogs?

Beth:  Well, that’s the beauty of it. He gets to hang out with all of ‘em. It’s going to be quite the weekend.

John:  It sounds like a party to me.

Discussion

Beth is an awesome friend! She’s willing to give up a weekend of fun and relaxation in Bend in order to help a friend in need.
I don’t have any pets now, but I used to have a dog, so I know how hard it can be to take care of an animal. It’s really nice to have friends and family who can help. I was lucky because my mom was willing to dog sit whenever I wanted to go out of town. I didn’t have to worry about a thing!
Have a great week!
