Now that it’s summer time, it’s a great opportunity to get out and enjoy the weather. We’ve been couped up all winter in the house, eating frozen veggies and watching videos. Now’s a great time to get out and see the many local farmer’s markets which can be found in a lot of cities and towns across the country and around the world. Listen on as Beth talks about her recent trip to the farmer’s market.

Miguel: Beth, tell me about this farmer’s market you went to.
Beth: Oh it’s so awesome! There are tons of vendors from local or regional farms that come down and sell their produce downtown so you can buy flowers or fresh baked bread and fruits and vegetables. It’s really fun!
Miguel: That sounds great…what did you end up getting?
Beth: Well I always get the breakfast burrito which is amazing. It’s like completely hand-made, um, eggs and vegetables and cheese and it’s all wrapped up in a amazing flour tortillia. And it’s just the best. So I started with that and then I purchased some cherries and strawberries and other vegetables and it was really awesome!
Miguel: That sounds super good! You’re making me really hungry. Um when is the farmer’s market? Is it every day or?
Beth: Well the one in Portland is on Saturday and I think they have a smaller one on Wednesday but Saturday they have like live folk music and tons of people come out for that one.
