Steph:  Did you happen to see Mount Saint Helens going off?

Derek:  No, I was actually working when it went off so I saw it on the news when I got home.

Steph:  Oh that was pretty cool huh? Did they re-play it over and over again?

Derek:  Yeah. Like usual.

Steph:  Like usual. I know, I was like at this, at a friend’s office building and this woman was running around screaming. And she was like ‘Mount Saint Helens just blew up, I can’t believe it!’

Derek:  Yeah. That’s the typical office response to something like that.

Steph:  Yeah. So everyone in the office went out on the roof and they were watching all the steam and stuff come off of the mountain. It was really cool.

Derek:  Yeah. Need a little bit of entertainment once in a while.

Steph:  I guess so, a little break in the routine.

Derek:  Yup.

Discussion

The good thing about the news is that you never really miss anything. If you don’t happen to notice the event live, you can always check it out on the news.
This was truly a spectacular event though! I don’t think that any camera could capture the feeling of seeing ash and steam rise a half a mile into the air!
It was amazing!
