Have you ever looked at a globe? It’s so cool to see the world represented in an object like that. Even though there are other planets and galaxies out there, when you really look at a globe, and see all the different continents and countries, it makes you realize that the world we live in is really cool. And it’s hugely important, because it contains us all.

So when you think about it, the world is us, and we are the world. The world is the most important thing to us, because it defines our entire existence. So when someone invites you to a party and you say that you wouldn’t miss it for the world, you mean that you wouldn’t miss the party even if someone said that they would give you the world if you didn’t go. This is an exaggeration, of course, because no one can give or take away the world. But the expression is used to show how much going to the party means to you.

When Blake Shelton was introducing his wife, Miranda Lambert, at a benefit for Oklahoma’s tornado victims, he said she wouldn’t miss it for the world. His statement shows how important it was to Miranda to be there and to give her support to the victims of that terrible weather event.

Definitely, it is very a very good expression to show how large must be our desire to visit some events. Certainly, there are a lot of similar events in my life, for example, a farewell party at the school, a long-awaited friend’s birthday, the weddings – yours or your best friend:).

Speaking about my opinion of such events, I find that it isn’t necessary so that future event would be so ambitious. I can say about future event that I wouldn’t miss it for the world if I just wait for it a long time. It can be a meeting with my close friends, a walking in the park with my children etc. On the other hand, there are such events when you suppose that you wouldn’t miss it for the world, but unexpectable circumstances change your plans and it finally save your life. So I believe that we have to listen to our inner voice, our intuition and be able to change our plans even if we are sure that we wouldn’t miss it for the world.
