How do you take a break from work or school? Do you get out of town and go to an exotic destination? Do you get out on the road and explore? Many people are so tired from work and school that they would rather mellow out at home. In America, this type of vacation is called a “staycation.”

People love to staycation because they can wake up, drink some coffee, and mellow out. When you spend time relaxing at home, watching television, reading a book, or gardening in your yard you are saving a lot of money! Staycations are a great way to spend time with family. No hectic travel involved!

Jessica and Gary are talking about vacations. Jessica wants to go on an adventure. Find out what Gary wants to do in today’s English lesson.

Jessica:  Gary, I really, really want to get out of town. I want to go somewhere fun on a fun adventure.

Gary:  Are you looking for an exotic destination?

Jessica:  Maybe, I just, I really want something mellow and fun… some swimming, sunshine. I just want to expand my horizons.

Gary:  That sounds exhausting!

Jessica:  Are you a homebody?

Gary:  I’m just tired. I’ve been working so much!

Jessica:  See, you should get out on the road. Go explore!

Gary:  I actually think I need a staycation.

Jessica:  Really?

Gary:  I just want to stay at home, mellow out, maybe watch some Netflix.

Jessica:  I know travel can sometimes be hectic, but if I plan it, I promise you’ll like it better than staying at home. It’ll be relaxing. You can still feel mellow. But it will be nice. You can clear your head and go on an adventure.

Gary:  I think I want a Yoga vacation where I can staycation.

Jessica:  There you go. I’ll find a nice secluded retreat!

Gary:  That sounds really relaxing.

Jessica:  Perfect!

Jessica wants to go on a vacation. She really wants to get out of town and expand her horizons. She is looking for a mellow and fun vacation. She tells Gary to get on the road and explore. Jessica wants to help Gary plan a vacation, and she promises it will be mellow and relaxing.

Gary does not want to go on an adventure. He has been working a lot and wants to relax at home. He tells Jessica he needs a staycation. After listening to Jessica’s suggestions, he tells her he wants to go on a Yoga vacation that feels like a staycation.

How do you spend your staycation? Would you rather go on an exotic adventure or staycation?

I love staycation. I enjoy sleeping a lot, watching movies at home, play with my dog, spend time relax at home.

I’m more of a homebody. I’d prefer to staycation with a good book or a good movie. However, I will not say no to an exotic adventure if I got myself stuck in a rut.

I’m not a ‘staycation’ kind of person. Every once in a while I have to get away from the norm. Knowing me, I could not ignore household chores and would try to tackle them no matter what! In any case , I’d rather go on an inexpensive vacation than a luxury staycation ;)

It depends , when I’m so tired I stay home , play sport , read for a while , may be watch a movie , but still I like going on adventure more , because that does expand my horizons and clear my head ;)

no adventure time of mylife , so when I found some free time all what I need is to go STAYCATION and be more relaxe due to our HECTIC and life busy , sometimes I travel to my freinds inside the country and spent a few days with them so that can let me clean my head and refresh the duty , by theway there are more things that can let you expand your horizon such as VOLUNTEER which is good for your mind and body .

Last time I feel a strong need for staycation at least for one day but my hectic life and my hectic family dont allow me to do that.

All I want is simply to stay in bed as long as I wish, to read a book as long as I can and do my crossstitching and gardening as long as I need .

I hope I will get such day of relaxation :)
