Steph: Did you hear about Dick Clark?
John: Did he have a stroke or something?
Steph: He did. He had a stroke. And it totally sucks because now he won’t be able to do the New Year’s show.
John: Hasn’t he done that for 30 or 40 years?
Steph: Oh my god. Totally. He does the Times Square New Year’s show. And he’s been doing it for over thirty years.
John: Who’s gonna do it this year?
Steph: I have no idea. Have you heard any updates?
John: I heard it might be Regis Philbin.
Steph: Oh, really?
John: Yeah.
Steph: Gosh. He’s such a dork, though.
John: Yeah. But he’s pretty popular with everybody.
Steph: I guess so. Yeah. That’s true. I mean but really nobody could take Dick Clark’s place.
John: No. He’s a legend, for sure.
Steph: Definitely. I’m gonna miss him for sure. I can’t believe he’s not gonna be there.
John: Well, he might be back next year.
Steph: Maybe he’ll make a guest appearance.
John: From his hospital bed?
Steph: Yeah.
John: I think he’ll be back next year, healthy.
Steph: I hope so.
John: Yeah.

That really bums me out that Dick Clark is feeling under the weather. On New Year’s Eve, you can bet there will be a lot of people at home wishing he were hosting the party.
Do you celebrate New Year’s Eve where you live? Is there a big party? Is there a celebrity host? If not, who would make a good one in your opinion?
