There are so many things that you can do with your life. You could be a teacher. You could become a ping-pong champion. You might even want to be a dessert chef. You could even make a list of all the possibilities and try different things. No matter what you do, the bottom line is that you want to do something you enjoy.
When someone tells you the bottom line, they are telling you what they think is most important. The bottom line is the point or the main idea. Sometimes, the bottom line is how much money a company can make. At other times, the bottom line is the conclusion of an argument. It is always the most important idea. So, while you figure out your life, remember the bottom line… happiness is the most important thing.

Kelsey: Jordan fell in love with Turkey, or Greece, or wherever. Sheila is on a desert island, and now Dominique’s traveling the world. Meanwhile….
Andy_H: What?
Kelsey: I don’t know. I’m here, and my friends are scattered all over the world. The bottom line is that I like to travel, too! I wish I were out there traveling!
Andy_H: Well, you could travel, too….
Kelsey: Yeah, but I like it here. And I want to keep working on music!
Andy_H: Well, half the time, I love it here. But half the time, I want to be somewhere sunny and warm and, well, just different. The bottom line is I think we need to find something fun to do. Let’s make a list.
Kelsey: Yeah, we need to figure out something special for us.
Andy_H: Uh-huh.
Kelsey: Can we play a game?
Andy_H: Absolutely! Let’s play ping-pong. We can make dessert. You can help me film my blog.
Kelsey: I’ll play you my new song. It’s super sad and catchy.
Andy_H: We can make you a video for that after my cooking show!
Kelsey: That sounds fun!
Andy_H: That’s it! I think we figured it out! We’ll make cooking shows and music videos. You know who we need?
Kelsey: Nestor!
Andy_H: Exactly! He’s gonna love it!
Kelsey: Maybe…
Andy_H: Well, the point is we found something fun to do! And he’s going to love it!

Kelsey is sad because most of her good friends are scattered around the globe. She wishes she could travel, too. But she also wants to figure out how to make money from her music. Andy understands how she feels. Sometimes, he just wants to leave. But he also likes his home. He suggests that the two of them make a list of fun things they could do.
Kelsey thinks the list is a good idea. The bottom line for her is to find something special that they can do without leaving. Andy suggests a game of ping-pong and some tasty dessert. Kelsey would also like his help with her song. Andy thinks they should help each other make videos… in fact, they know the perfect person to help them.
What is the bottom line in your life right now? Do you think the point of life is to have fun?
