The big day is here. Jason and Devan are going to get married. But, um, has anyone seen Devan?
All of the guests are ready for the wedding, but no one can find the bride. What could have gone wrong? She must have gotten held up somehow.
When you are held up, you are delayed. If your meeting lasts longer than it was supposed to and you are late to the next meeting, you can say you got held up. People are often held up by traffic.
But there is another, much more scary meaning of the term “hold up.” Find out what it is and find out where Devan really is.

Jason:  Where is Devan? The wedding was supposed to start five minutes ago!

Marni:  She’ll be here. Have patience. You waited your whole life to find the right person. You can wait a few minutes more to marry her.

Jason:  I’m gonna call her.

Marni:  No, don’t. It’s bad luck.

Jason:  She’s calling me! Look at that. Everyone is waiting. Where are you?

Devan:  I’m at the jewelry store. I had to pick up my earrings and…

Jason:  You’re picking up your earrings? Oh my God. You’re holding everything up!

Devan:  Will you listen to me? I had to pick up my earrings and I got held up.

Jason:  I’ll say, you’re an hour late!

Devan:  No, I mean there’s gunmen here and they’re holding the place up. They’re robbing it. I’m hiding in the back room right now.

Jason:  What? Why didn’t you say something?

Devan:  I was trying to! Anyway, if something happens, I want you to know, I…I love you.

Jason:  I love you too. I’m sorry I got upset.

Mason:  Hey buddy, what’s the hold up?

Jason:  I guess there’s a hold up. Devan’s at the jewelry store, and it’s being robbed!

Mason:  You keep everyone calm. I’ll take care of this.

Jason:  Thank you. So you’re real?

Everyone is ready for the wedding start, but Devan has not arrived. Jason is very upset and tells Marni that he is going to call Devan. Then Devan calls him.

She says she is at the jewelry store and got held up. Jason thinks she just means that she is late, but actually Devan is late because there is a hold up at the jewelry store. People are robbing it and she is hiding in a back room!

Devan tells Jason she loves him and Mason rushes off to rescue her. Jason gets his first look at Mason’s girlfriend. Now he knows she is real.

Have you ever been held up on your way to something important? Why were you late?

I was one time held up  for questioning  by migratory authorities .it was  my worst   and unthought scenario, although it was nerve recking  everything turned up well ,let alone that I lost my connecting flight.Embarassed

I want to add to the suspense and doubt that hottie is indeed Mason’s girlfriend.

She could be a distant cousin escorting Mason for the wedding. Mason is taunting Ella. Tongue out

Snoopy, I like the way how Mason’s heels flashed in the air. It was all so sudden, that Jason didn’t expect that everything will be solved  by his  good friend, he kind off relaxed and here is another unexpected thing ;)), a real hottie :))

I hope so too , Ola

I’d rather see Mason’s heroic scene than see Jason hitting it off with “hottie” : ) and ruin his marriage .

I didn’t like the way he was eyeing her, and the way she popped that bubble gum, she’s got homewrecker written all over her face, or maybe I’m just over dramatizing

hehe!

Snoopy, yes, isn’t it unusual. Life if full surprise, you never know what will happen.

I think Mason will outwit the robbers. Smile

Few things make me late for work, Rain and gridlock. Truth is, I’m rarely late…

I don’t have any recent  recollection of being held up on my way to something important, I always give myself one hour cushion so I don’t have to rush to get there, I triple the time when my mother is tagging along. My mother is hold up, impersonated, and uncharacteristically she’s not the type of woman that goes heavy on make ups, quite the opposite, she spends less time in the shower and in front of the mirror than I do : ). But she’s always scouring the house looking for some irrelevant stuff right before we are to go somewhere important. The last episode I had with her was on our way to the airport, she spent almost an hour looking for a pressing iron that she’s not going to travel with.  “Mom, why are we looking for the iron?” . “I’m not looking for it, I just want to make sure it’s not plugged in somewhere, I don’t want to torch the house”. “Mom, I checked all the outlets in the house, nothing is plugged, can we go now?”. “Are you sure?” “I’ve been sure for the past 20 minutes mom, I was trying to tell you but..” “ Oh no! Snoopy We are late, hurry, we can’t just stay here and chitchat, we have a plane to catch” . We barely made it on time for the plane that day.

Why is it so hard to believe that Mason had a girlfriend, he’s the guy with the cool hat, after all Smile

Ola, I was thinking the same… Tongue out

So nobody bothers calling the Police because Mason is on that case, he’s going to take on all the gunmen by himself… Relax and get acquainted with his girlfriend .

Come on Jason, go to your wife’s rescue, and call the cops on your way there. Don’t worry about who’s real and who’s not, because while you’re checking out hottie Devan’s life is on the line.  : )

Nice and intriguing plot!! So, the bottom line is— grooms buy wedding earings beforehand if you don’t want your bride to have gotten held up and someone else, so gallant as Mason, will get to the rescue! :)

The huge hold up in my life was when I was in grade 2. I went to school early in the morning and my parents wrote a note to a teacher to let me go half an hour before a lesson ends. The whole lesson was 45 minutes. So I had to study for the first 15 minutes and then quickly go home. The teacher read a note and I don’t know why didn’t let me to leave the class. My parents called to a principal and the principal showed up in the room by the end of the lesson and I was out. I was running like crazy all way home, since we were going to Belarus to visit our relatives and the train wouldn’t wait. I got home, where my parents where waiting for me, then got on a subway, then was running on the platform along with the moving train. We made it! But i still feel the pain of my earache because of too much panicking and running. That was a very stressful hold up. Smile
