Steph: Did you file your taxes yet?
Kyle: Not yet. I actually filled ’em out, but I still have to take them to the post office.
Steph: Oh, yeah? When are you gonna do that? You’ve got two days left.
Kyle: I think I’m gonna do that tonight. I need to make some photocopies first.
Steph: Oh yeah. I totally need to do that, too. I filled out my forms but I’m gonna re-fill ‘em out tonight.
Kyle: Are yours easy this year or more difficult?
Steph: They were kind of difficult. I had some things to write off and I didn’t exactly have the receipts that I needed.
Kyle: Aah, see mine were easy. I only worked three months last year.
Steph: Oh man. You’re so lucky! I worked a lot more than that, so…
Kyle: Yeah. Last year was a lot of play. But not much money, but easy taxes, too.
Steph: Oh. That’s cool. Well, good luck mailing them out tomorrow. It sounds like it’s gonna be easy for you.
Kyle: It should.

Pretty much everyone has to file taxes. Throughout the year, your employer takes money out of your paycheck. At the end of the year, you either get some money back or you have to pay.
I wish that I didn’t have to pay taxes, but I know the money is helping me and others. What does tax money do? It builds roads, libraries and schools. It also helps pay for police and firefighters.
In the end, I guess it’s worth it. But for now, it’s just a big headache!
See you! Have a great weekend!
