When you let someone into your house, you open the door and allow them to walk inside. When you let someone into your heart, you trust them and allow yourself to care about them.

It can be dangerous to let someone in. If you let the wrong person into your house, they could steal something or hurt you. If you let the wrong person into your heart, you might get heartbroken.

Mason has had a tough time with love. Years ago, Amanda broke his heart. Now, she wants him to let her in again. But is he ready?

Amanda:  Morning, Mason. Look what I have.

Mason:  Hey!

Amanda:  I’ve got bagels.

Mason:  Whoa, uh, it might be a little early for me to let you in.

Amanda:  Is it early? Oh, I know. You want to clean up this office before anyone shows up in the morning and you’re a hard worker and I think that’s so sexy. I do. But come on. With all that we’ve been through, I think we deserve a little alone time before people show up, so…

Mason:  No, but I don’t think you understand. It might be too early for me to let you in here.

Amanda:  Oh, don’t be silly.

Mason:  Amanda, I mean, you really hurt me when you left me the first time. And then I spent all this time pining after a girl that I couldn’t have. And then I thought I had some super hottie who was like totally into me, and turns out she cheats on me with my best friend. It’s just too much. I need more time before I can let anyone in.

Amanda:  Mason, I’m not going to hurt you. I really care about you.

Mason:  It’s just too soon. It’s just too soon.

Amanda:  Fine. So I guess I’ll give the bagels to somebody else.

Mason:  What? I mean, you can leave the bagel.

Amanda:  Oh, you want?

Mason:  Yeah.

Jason:  Oh, hey, Amanda. What’s wrong?

Amanda:  Oh, you know it’s Mason. He won’t let anyone in.

Jason:  Did you try knocking?

Amanda:  Forget it.

Jason:  Hey, Mason. Hey, let me in!

It’s first thing in the morning and Mason is at work early, cleaning the office. Amanda arrives and offers him some bagels. She also wants to kiss him.

Mason tells Amanda it’s too soon for him to let her in. She thinks he means it’s too early to let her into the office. He explains that he isn’t ready to let her into his heart.

Last time they were together, Amanda broke Mason’s heart. He hasn’t recovered and he hasn’t had good luck in love since then. It will take some time for him to trust her. But maybe he’ll get there. After all, he does finally accept a bagel.

i would do like mason, because his heart was still broken. to let anyone in is not right if you were not expecting anyone, consider it first before you take a decision.

It’s easy for me to let someone in my heart, and easy to me to talk what I think to others. The aftermath is I awlays hurt by people who just lie or say something bad to me.Although things are like that,I still keep an open mind to everyone.Do you think I’m stupid? :D

For me is very difficult and hard to let someone in. You can’t read anyone’s mind, and that’s why you won’t be totally sure of him or her. I think the people should win your love or friendship with facts, and I think it takes a lot of time.

It is hard for me to let someone in my heart, because, I often was disapointed by people. I can try, but it will not be very easy for me. Sometimes, we are disapointed by young men. It is not very easy to talk to them after a brokenheart. We don’t want to have brokenheart again. But it is worth trying again and have confidence.

Once you’ve got a broken heart, it really really really is not easy to let someone else in because you’re afraid that , that person (be it the same or another) will urt you too …

It’s pretty hard, because I had suffered too much with heartbreak. And people sometimes play with our internal feelings.

For me it depends on the situation I lost that person, if that person cheats on my once, maybe I’ll give that person the chance to talk to me and straight things out, but it’d be hard for me if that person leaves me heartbroken above once… it’d be hard for me…

Let everyone in, and let everyone out, too. Because you’re just another part of the people’s life road, not a prision for them.

Dear tutorheather,  the examples you gave us are useful  and understandable.

With great respect and gratitude. Smile

I liked the end of the episode, – Justin’s knocking at the door “Hey, Mason, let me in?” Laughing

If you let someone in and after all that affair the relationship is over – it hurts, it’s like a refusal, it’s like a failure – it’s a bad experience. Plus, it trails after by some sleepless nights and all that headache and bad mood..

So, after, you kinda be cautious and make the relationship sort of shallow while you’re watching how a person is reliable and trustworthy. If you get a good sign of it, you can let a person into your heart, but if not – you just don’t want to go through that painful experience again like Mason did. So in this case it’s hard to let someone in.

Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me Wink

But there’re people who’re easy on that. Easy come, easy go like in amazing song ‘Grenade’ by Bruno Mars. Cry

I think that relationships are really hard and we have to be careful to not get hurt. I’m not the kind of person that trust someone fast, so I don’t let someone in so easily, but if the person give me reasons to trust, I open my heart.

Since you’re using “instead,” you’re signifying an opposite relationship.

Do you mean it’s easy for you to let someone in, but very hard to get over that person? Or are both actions difficult?

For example:

“It was very easy for me to let Joe in. However, once our relationship ended, I had a hard time getting over him.”

“It’s very hard for me to let someone into my heart. It’s also hard for me to get over someone.”

You can also use “let him GO” in this way. Notice you use “go” and not “out.”

It was easy for me to let Joe into my heart, but it’s been very hard to let him go.”

In order to fully let someone go, you really need to “get over” the person! Once you let them go, you can feel free.

Complicated, I know - just like love!

I am yearning for more free time.

I am longing for more free time.

I am craving more free time.

Their meanings are very comparable.

Pining is often used in a romantic context, but again there are exceptions. I read an article yesterday about a woman pining for her father who had been missing for years. She missed him greatly and was grieving the loss.

That’s a detailed explantion. However, to make it easier on everyone, these verbs can be used interchangeably.

Then I’d like to correct my expression!

Thanks again!:)
